Agenitor 406 on the Dutch border

Wittekindshof Gronau offers people of all ages with intellectual and physical disabilities opportunities for grants, training, support, housing and work. A contracting agreement with Energielenker GmbH now enables the institution to benefit from a environmentally friendly and cost-effective combined heat and power plant run on bio-natural gas. Energielenker GmbH was one of the first customers to use the Agenitor 406. This has an electrical output of 250 kW and a thermal output of 268 kW, plus an electrical energy-efficiency rating of 42.5%. This plant supplies the residential homes, administrative building and kitchen, the school building and hot water for the swimming pool.

The cutting-edge buffertank and a newly modernised heat station, makes the institution totally prepared for inexpensive energy supply in the future. Due to the neighbouring housing, the Gronau site uses a Super Silent version of the combined heat and power plant (in a concrete acoustic hood). This keeps the noise level down to just 40 dB(A) at a distance of 10m. In addition to the financial benefits, the use of the CHP plant prevents the emission of approx. 1,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
