Evo Energy Technologies has been awarded the contract to design and supply a high-efficiency co-generation system for the Selfs Point Sewage Treatment Plant (STP). Working alongside CPB Contractors and UGL as part of their joint venture, this project will enhance energy efficiency and sustainability at the wastewater treatment plant through advanced combined heat and power (CHP) technology.
The Selfs Point STP Co-Generation System is a critical infrastructure upgrade aimed at improving energy recovery and operational efficiency within the wastewater treatment process.
Evo Energy Technologies is supplying a 400kWe Agenitor 408B CHP system, housed within a prefabricated containerised solution to allow seamless integration into the existing site infrastructure.
A key component of the installation will be the gas conditioning package, comprising a 300m³/h gas cooling and reheating system and 2 × 3000L activated carbon tanks. This system will remove contaminants and stabilise biogas quality to support reliable and consistent CHP operation.
By utilising biogas produced on site, the system will generate renewable electricity and thermal energy for the facility, reducing reliance on external power sources and lowering overall operating costs.
With engineering currently underway, the project is set to deliver long-term environmental and economic benefits by capturing and upgrading a waste gas stream into usable on-site energy, supporting improved plant efficiency and reduced emissions.
