CHEESE FACTORY A

A dairy processing facility in Tasmania, operates an on-site anaerobic digester that produces biogas from food processing waste. Before that biogas can be used, it needs to be treated to remove moisture and hydrogen sulphide - otherwise it degrades equipment and causes reliability problems downstream. EvoET supplied and installed a 2G gas treatment system alongside an Evo270 hot water heat pump to condition the gas and keep it consistently within spec for use.

Full system commissioning and handover

The facility'sĀ anaerobic digester produces biogas from food processing waste, but raw biogas requires treatment before it can be used effectively. Left untreated, moisture and hydrogen sulphide (H2S) in the gas will degrade equipment and reduce system efficiency over time.

EvoET installed a 2G gas treatment system to solve this. The system first cools the incoming biogas to strip out moisture, then reheats it to lower the relative humidity to the level required for effective carbon filtration. The conditioned gas then passes through two activated carbon tanks in series, which scrub hydrogen sulphide down to the concentration needed for safe downstream use.

The reheat stage is supplied with hot water by an Evo270 hot water heat pump, integrating EvoHeat technology into the gas conditioning process and removing the need for a separate heat source for that stage of treatment.
