Due to the pandemic, 2G were unable to continue to welcome guests are their headquarters in Heek, Germany. 

As a compromise, 2G have been busy producing a fantastic informative video series which virtually tours different areas of the company, allowing an amazing insight into their headquarters.

Latrobe City Council has been nominated as a finalist for the Industry leader award in the Premier’s Sustainability Awards 2021!

The Premiers Sustainability Awards are held annually to recognise Victoria’s industries and community who are paving the way to a sustainable future.

Latrobe City Council is a finalist in the ‘Clean, affordable and secure energy’ category after being recognised for their application of environmentally friendly technologies to create energy and minimise emissions. A key factor in their finalist nomination, Latrobe’s Hyland Highway Landfill utilises a Evo Energy 2G Avus800b Landfill Biogas system which converts landfill gas to electricity.

The system runs continuously, producing on average 7,000MWh of electricity to offset the vast majority of Latrobe City Council’s total electricity consumption.  By converting landfill waste to clean and renewable energy, Hyland Highway Landfill can greatly reduce their energy consumption and impact on the environment.

Winners are announced at the online ceremony on the 23^rd of November, so keep your eyes peeled for the results!
