Kilcoy Project Wins Outstanding Biogas Project Award

26 August, 2025 by Evo Energy

Evo Energy Technologies is proud to announce that our work with Kilcoy Global Foods has been recognised at the 2025 Australian Renewable Heat Conference Awards, hosted by the Australian Alliance for Energy Productivity (A2EP). The Kilcoy Co-generation Project received the award for Outstanding Biogas Project, celebrating its role as a benchmark in renewable energy for the food industry.

The project features three Combined Heat and Power (CHP) engines with a total capacity of 4 MW, powered by biogas from onsite wastewater treatment. Supported by Evo Command heat pumps and a Biological Desulphurisation Treatment process, the system transforms waste into clean, reliable energy.

This achievement has enabled Kilcoy to become the first certified carbon-neutral large-scale beef processing facility in Australia, generating electricity equivalent to powering 4,000 homes each year while cutting reliance on grid power.

The award highlights the innovation and impact of integrating CHP, heat pumps, and advanced biogas treatment, and we are proud to have delivered this milestone in sustainable meat processing.

Powering Data Centres with On-Site, Low-Emission Energy

27 May, 2025 by Evo Energy

Australia’s demand for data storage and processing is growing rapidly, and with it comes the need for more reliable, efficient, and sustainable power. At Evo Energy Technologies, we’re bringing proven solutions to this space through our technology partner, 2G Energy, whose combined heat and power (CHP) systems are already being used in major data centres across Europe.

CHP systems produce electricity on-site and recover the waste heat from that process. This heat can then be reused in cooling systems or elsewhere on site, reducing energy waste and improving overall efficiency. For energy-intensive facilities like data centres, this dual-function system offers a smarter way to manage power supply and thermal load.

We can now offer this capability to Australian data centres through our local supply, support, and engineering services. This solution helps operators:

  • Maintain power during grid outages or instability

  • Improve efficiency by capturing energy that would otherwise be lost

  • Reduce emissions to meet sustainability targets

  • Scale systems to suit small edge facilities or large hyperscale sites

In recent 2G projects, installations have reached over 45MW using three 15MW gas generator stacks, demonstrating how this technology can meet serious demand without compromising reliability.

If your data centre is looking to improve energy performance, reduce reliance on the grid, or prepare for a lower-emission future, Evo Energy Technologies is ready to help.

Major Project Wins Across Australia

29 April, 2025 by Evo Energy

Evo Energy Technologies has kicked off 2025 with a series of significant project awards, continuing our mission to support Australian industries with high-performance, low-emission energy solutions. From agriculture to wastewater treatment and manufacturing, our systems are helping clients reduce grid reliance, improve operational efficiency, and lower emissions.

Selfs Point Wastewater Treatment Plant – TasWater

SelfsPointWTP
Awarded in partnership with CPB Contractors and UGL, this project involves the supply of a 400kWe Agenitor 408B CHP unit housed in a container, along with a gas treatment system featuring two 3,000-litre units (300m³). The system will support energy recovery at the site, contributing to TasWater’s push toward greater sustainability and efficiency in operations.

Kia Ora Piggery – Victoria

Kia Ora
A 160kW Agenitor 404c CHP unit will be installed in a 6-metre container to convert biogas from pig manure into usable electricity and heat. Set for installation in May, this project reflects the growing trend in Australian agriculture to turn waste into renewable energy, reducing reliance on traditional power sources while improving environmental outcomes.

Acu-Tech Piping Systems – Western Australia

AcuTech PFP
With limited grid power available, Acu-Tech has engaged Evo Energy Technologies to deliver and commission 2 x 2G Avus 1000 Plus CHP units. These systems will provide reliable on-site generation while allowing the business to decommission its diesel generator—cutting emissions and supporting long-term energy resilience for their operations.

Together, these projects highlight the diverse ways Evo Energy Technologies is applying advanced cogeneration and biogas solutions to meet the real-world energy challenges of Australian businesses.

Evo Energy Technologies to install 2G Biogas CHP at Rivalea Australia

20 September, 2018 by Nicole Chapman

Rivalea have recently partnered with Evo Energy and 2G to further minimise their environmental footprint & reduce energy consumption with their upcoming biogas generator installation.

Rivalea is one of Australia’s leading integrated agri-food companies. Early this year, Rivalea will be able to significantly minimise their environmental footprint with the installation of a custom built 2G Avus 500plus in a 12m container module.

Conventional power generates around only 35% of primary energy as usable electricity and the rest is released into the atmosphere. The biogas fuel used by this system is captured from the natural breakdown of pig manure and turns a waste product into an energy source. The 2G Avus500plus unit, supplied by Evo Energy offers combined heat and power technology that guarantees advanced energy efficiency of up to 90%. This means enormous cost savings as well as a massive reduction in carbon emissions.

The upcoming biogas cogeneration installation is expected to generate around 25% of the sites power per year resulting in considerable energy cost savings for Rivalea. The project is estimated to offset over 28,000 per annum tons of CO2 equivalent emissions from grid and methane emissions avoided.

2G have commenced the Rivalea custom build in their main production site based in Heek, Germany.
