Major Project Wins Across Australia

29 April, 2025 by Evo Energy

Evo Energy Technologies has kicked off 2025 with a series of significant project awards, continuing our mission to support Australian industries with high-performance, low-emission energy solutions. From agriculture to wastewater treatment and manufacturing, our systems are helping clients reduce grid reliance, improve operational efficiency, and lower emissions.

Selfs Point Wastewater Treatment Plant – TasWater

SelfsPointWTP
Awarded in partnership with CPB Contractors and UGL, this project involves the supply of a 400kWe Agenitor 408B CHP unit housed in a container, along with a gas treatment system featuring two 3,000-litre units (300m³). The system will support energy recovery at the site, contributing to TasWater’s push toward greater sustainability and efficiency in operations.

Kia Ora Piggery – Victoria

A 160kW Agenitor 404c CHP unit will be installed in a 6-metre container to convert biogas from pig manure into usable electricity and heat. Set for installation in May, this project reflects the growing trend in Australian agriculture to turn waste into renewable energy, reducing reliance on traditional power sources while improving environmental outcomes.

Acu-Tech Piping Systems – Western Australia

With limited grid power available, Acu-Tech has engaged Evo Energy Technologies to deliver and commission 2 x 2G Avus 1000 Plus CHP units. These systems will provide reliable on-site generation while allowing the business to decommission its diesel generator—cutting emissions and supporting long-term energy resilience for their operations.

Together, these projects highlight the diverse ways Evo Energy Technologies is applying advanced cogeneration and biogas solutions to meet the real-world energy challenges of Australian businesses.

Woodman Point Facility Upgrade: Transforming Wastewater into Energy

An article from Utility Magazine highlights the $238.5 million upgrade at the Woodman Point Wastewater Recovery and Reuse Facility (WRRF), where Evo Energy Technologies is supplying three 2G Avus 1500b units. These, along with advanced treatment processes, will allow the facility to produce nearly 50% of its energy on-site and cut 5,600 tonnes of CO2 annually. This project sets new standards in sludge treatment and energy recovery, showcasing our commitment to sustainability.

Pioneering Cogeneration Projects Driving Sustainability in Victoria and New South Wales

Stage 2 of the Colac Water Reclamation Plant project at Barwon Water is in the final stages of installation and commissioning of a second cogeneration unit—a 2G Avus 500 plus Biogas CHP. This unit, alongside the existing 360kW engine, will meet increased power demands and enhance biogas quality, driving the plant toward grid independence. The project supports Victoria’s net-zero emissions goal by converting waste into energy, benefiting the environment and community.

Our 3MW project in New South Wales is advancing with great momentum! Our team has been making significant strides in installing three 1MW cogeneration units alongside a Heat Recovery Steam Generator, driving efficiency and sustainability forward. An exciting aspect of this project is the upcoming transition to biogas. Once the biogas plant is operational, these engines will shift from natural gas to biogas, reinforcing our commitment to a greener future!

Biomethane Growth on the Horizon: Industry Updates and Future Potential

26 August, 2024 by Evo Energy

Renewable Gas Alliance Update

Jarrod Irving, Chair of the Renewable Gas Alliance, shared promising developments in the biomethane sector. Despite the recent 2024-25 Budget not including specific biomethane incentives, the industry’s outlook remains positive. The fast-tracking of the Guarantee of Origin scheme by the Government, part of the Future Made in Australia program, will support green industries, including biomethane and biogas.

A study by Blunomy for AGIG highlights significant biomethane potential in Victoria, South Australia, and Queensland:

  • • Up to 88.3 PJ of recoverable biomethane annually
    • Creation of over 4,000 direct jobs
    • Reduction of up to 4.5 million tonnes of carbon emissions per annum

Globally, the sector is booming with a 37% increase in EU biomethane capacity, now reaching 6.4 billion cubic meters annually. This growth shows the potential for rapid scaling with supportive policies, a path Australia is starting to follow.

Renewable Fuels Meet Queensland Parliament Event

Renewable Fuels Meet Queensland Parliament

EvoET will be attending Bioenergy Australia’s Renewable Fuels Meet Queensland Parliament networking reception on August 21, 2024, at Queensland Parliament House. This event is a significant platform for discussing the future of renewable fuels in Australia. Key speakers include:

  • • Hon Grace Grace MP, Minister for State Development and Infrastructure
  • • Mrs. Deborah Frecklington, Shadow Minister for Energy and Cost of Living

Transforming Wastewater into a Sustainable Resource: The Woodman Point WRRF Upgrade

11 July, 2024 by Evo Energy

Evo Energy Technologies is proud to be part of a groundbreaking project at the Woodman Point Wastewater Recovery and Reuse Facility (WRRF), Western Australia’s largest treatment plant. This $238.5 million upgrade aims to significantly enhance the facility’s sludge treatment capacity and efficiency. By integrating advanced technologies such as thermal hydrolysis pre-treatment and anaerobic digestion processes, the facility will produce nearly 50% of its energy on-site, effectively reducing greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 5,600 tonnes of CO2 annually.

A key component of this upgrade is the installation of three 2G Avus 1500b 1.5MWe units, which will be complemented by a comprehensive suite of energy recovery equipment. This includes biogas blower packages, C-Nox biogas flare, double membrane biogas holders, and an advanced gas treatment package. The CHP container design ensures efficient on-site assembly and immediate operational readiness, minimising risks and installation time. Inspired by successful implementations at Southern Meats in Goulburn and Kilcoy Meats, the gas treatment solution will feature enhanced control and monitoring systems, integrating Siemens HMI, biogas blowers, and flowmeters.

Innovative Solutions for Sustainable Wastewater Treatment
