Evo Energy Technologies to install 2G Biogas CHP at Rivalea Australia

20 September, 2018 by Nicole Chapman

Rivalea have recently partnered with Evo Energy and 2G to further minimise their environmental footprint & reduce energy consumption with their upcoming biogas generator installation.

Rivalea is one of Australia’s leading integrated agri-food companies. Early this year, Rivalea will be able to significantly minimise their environmental footprint with the installation of a custom built 2G Avus 500plus in a 12m container module.

Conventional power generates around only 35% of primary energy as usable electricity and the rest is released into the atmosphere. The biogas fuel used by this system is captured from the natural breakdown of pig manure and turns a waste product into an energy source. The 2G Avus500plus unit, supplied by Evo Energy offers combined heat and power technology that guarantees advanced energy efficiency of up to 90%. This means enormous cost savings as well as a massive reduction in carbon emissions.

The upcoming biogas cogeneration installation is expected to generate around 25% of the sites power per year resulting in considerable energy cost savings for Rivalea. The project is estimated to offset over 28,000 per annum tons of CO2 equivalent emissions from grid and methane emissions avoided.

2G have commenced the Rivalea custom build in their main production site based in Heek, Germany.

Dreamworld – Mission Complete

20 September, 2018 by Nicole Chapman

Evo Energy Technologies have recently completed the largest heat pump installation in Australia with a massive 3,610kW heating capacity at Dreamworld’s WhiteWater World, heating over 30 slides, water-rides and pools to 27 degrees for year- round warm water.

This system upgrade has seen some of the newest advancements in water heating technology replacing WhiteWater World’s gas boiler system with 19 energy efficient EvoHeat CS200 GEN2 heat pumps that now reduce Dreamworld’s water heating running costs by over 70 percent.

This cutting-edge technology has helped WhiteWater World move one step closer to becoming one of the most energy efficient water parks in the world.

On top of the environmental benefits, the smart control and monitoring capabilities will also boost WhiteWater World’s operational efficiencies. WhiteWater World can now monitor and remotely control all aspects of their water heating plant to ensure maximum comfort levels for their guests all year round.

WhiteWater World patrons aren’t the only ones to benefit from the water heating upgrade, with upgrades also taking place to the existing heating at Dreamworld’s Tiger Island and the crocodile pools. Using an energy efficient EvoHeat CS 57 heat pump the water in Tiger Island remains at a comfortable 28-degree temperature for 12 of their big cats.

This massive water heating redesign took over three months to install and involved various trades including hydraulic engineers, plumbers, electricians, BMS/Controls specialists, civil works contractors, laborers, gas technicians and design draftsman.

Team work played a major part in the successful completion of this immense installation that has resulted in 19 heat pumps online, at set point and connected to the external monitoring system.
While there are some final tweaks to the system, Paul Callander, Executive GM Commercial & Development, is delighted not only with the final results and quality of workmanship shown but how well all those involved collaborated.

“As we stand today the works undertaken have been a resounding success. This is a tremendous and sustainable step in making Dreamworld’s WhiteWater World the best waterpark in Australia. I genuinely believe this install will continue to exceed all expectations, well into the future and will encourage other businesses to follow in our footsteps,” Mr Callander said.

Rivalea – 2017 Green Globe Award finalist

20 September, 2018 by Nicole Chapman

Rivalea Australia has been chosen as a finalist in the Business Leadership category for the 2017 Green Globe Awards.

The Business Leadership award recognises outstanding NSW businesses and corporations that have integrated environmental management and sustainable practices into their organisation. This includes consolidating environmental sustainability into their strategy, planning and operations or service delivery, and showing that this strengthens their commercial viability.

Environmental Minister Gabrielle Upton announced the finalists for the 18th Green Globe Awards, recognising sustainability and environmental leadership across New South Wales.

Rivalea Australia is up against 3 other finalists including De Bortoli Wines, Splendour In the Grass and Stone & Wood Brewing Company.

Rivalea Australia, one of Australia’s leading integrated agri-food companies, was nominated for their recent installation of a large 500kW biogas combined heat and power unit on their Corowa farm.

The 2G Avus500plus supplied by Evo Energy unit offers combined heat and power technology that guarantees advanced energy efficiency of up to 90% as well as generating around 25% of the sites power per year. This means enormous cost savings as well as a massive reduction in carbon emissions.

The unit helps reduce the company’s environmental footprint by masses, using the methane produced by the pig’s compost to power it. To power the unit, fuel is created through a process of a natural breakdown in the pig’s manure in a covered and oxygen-free lagoon.

The custom-built 500kW Biogas Combined Heat and Power Unit will generate approximately a quarter of the sites power requirements annually and offset over 28,000 tonnes per year of CO2-equivalent emissions whilst also providing heat for the piggery sheds.

By harnessing the power of methane gas, Rivalea has achieved significant cost savings, reduced environmental impact and a much more environmentally friendly footprint.

By ensuring that the organization is sustainable long term, Rivalea will minimize its environmental footprint and impact to conserve soils, judicious chemical usage and improve water and energy efficiencies.

The 2017 Green Globe Award winners will be announced at an invitation only gala event at the Art Gallery of NSW on 19th October 2017.
