Evo Energy Technologies is proud to be part of a groundbreaking project at the Woodman Point Wastewater Recovery and Reuse Facility (WRRF), Western Australia’s largest treatment plant. This $238.5 million upgrade aims to significantly enhance the facility’s sludge treatment capacity and efficiency. By integrating advanced technologies such as thermal hydrolysis pre-treatment and anaerobic digestion processes, the facility will produce nearly 50% of its energy on-site, effectively reducing greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 5,600 tonnes of CO2 annually.
A key component of this upgrade is the installation of three 2G Avus 1500b 1.5MWe units, which will be complemented by a comprehensive suite of energy recovery equipment. This includes biogas blower packages, C-Nox biogas flare, double membrane biogas holders, and an advanced gas treatment package. The CHP container design ensures efficient on-site assembly and immediate operational readiness, minimising risks and installation time. Inspired by successful implementations at Southern Meats in Goulburn and Kilcoy Meats, the gas treatment solution will feature enhanced control and monitoring systems, integrating Siemens HMI, biogas blowers, and flowmeters.
Innovative Solutions for Sustainable Wastewater Treatment
Evo Energy Technologies’ involvement in the Woodman Point WRRF project underscores our commitment to sustainability and technological innovation. The TS Biological Desulphurisation system, a critical part of the project, offers a more environmentally friendly and cost-effective alternative to chemical scrubbers. This system, alongside other cutting-edge technologies, aligns with our mission to provide sustainable and efficient energy solutions.
The Woodman Point WRRF upgrade is poised to set new benchmarks in wastewater treatment and energy recovery. By enhancing operational efficiency and environmental sustainability, this project not only meets the current demands but also ensures the facility’s capability to handle future requirements until 2040. Evo Energy Technologies is proud to contribute to this transformative initiative, ensuring a greener future for Western Australia.
