Cardinia Life Aquatic Centre, located in Pakenham Victoria, is receiving a 2G Patruus 140kW Natural Gas cogeneration unit which will see the centre generate electricity and heat to power the Aquatic Centre, as well as heating their pools and air.
In 2017, the leisure centre was responsible for 24% of the Council’s operational carbon emissions and 1684 tonnes of carbon dioxide. When the cogeneration unit is operational, significant yearly savings in energy costs and associated reductions of greenhouse gas emissions are to be expected for the council!
