Cardinia Life Aquatic Centre to Significantly Reduce Emissions & Energy Costs!

5 January, 2021 by Evo Energy

Cardinia Life Aquatic Centre, located in Pakenham Victoria, is receiving a 2G Patruus 140kW Natural Gas cogeneration unit which will see the centre generate electricity and heat to power the Aquatic Centre, as well as heating their pools and air.

In 2017, the leisure centre was responsible for 24% of the Council’s operational carbon emissions and 1684 tonnes of carbon dioxide. When the cogeneration unit is operational, significant yearly savings in energy costs and associated reductions of greenhouse gas emissions are to be expected for the council!

City of Gold Coast Pimpama Sports Hub to be a Grid Neutral Smart Facility

27 October, 2020 by Evo Energy

Evo Energy Technologies is supplying the City of Gold Coast Pimpama Sports Hub, which is currently under construction, a 360kW 2G Agenitor 408 Cogeneration unit along with nine EvoHeat CS-GEN2 heat pumps for their Aquatic Centre!

The CHP is designed to participate in the electricity wholesale spot market. The unit will be turned on in times of high electricity demand to export power to the grid. The heat generated by the system will then be used to heat the pools.

The EvoHeat CS-GEN2 commercial pool heat pumps will provide energy efficient pool heating to maintain an optimum temperature year-round for facility users.

Using highly efficient and innovative installation with various technologies, Pimpama Sports Hub will be a grid neutral smart facility.

Water heating technology set to soar at Dreamworld

20 September, 2018 by Nicole Chapman

Mother Nature has been serving up some of the steamiest temperatures on record but it’s hot new advances in water heating technology that are set to soar at WhiteWater World.

In March 2017, we will dive into one of the largest water heating installations in Australia with a cutting-edge system upgrade cementing WhiteWater World as one of the most energy efficient water parks on the planet.

Located right next door to Dreamworld, the Gold Coast’s youngest theme park features ground breaking technology to deliver splashtacular fun to hundreds of thousands of guests every year and the fun doesn’t dip when the mercury drops.

Our EvoEnergy’s redesign will continue to heat over 30 slides, water-rides and pools to a toasty 27 degrees while cutting existing carbon emissions by over 35 percent.

General Manager Park Operations Dreamworld, WhiteWater World, Troy Margetts says on top of environmental benefits, the technology’s smart control and monitoring capabilities will boost operational efficiencies as well.

“The EvoHeat CS200-GEN2 technology will allow us to monitor and remotely control all aspects of the water heating plant to ensure maximum comfort for our guests all year round,” Mr Margetts said.

Director EvoEnergy Travis McNeill says 19 high-performance EvoHeat heat pumps will provide up to 3,610kW heating capacity, unparalleled energy efficiency and a reduction in running costs of over 70 percent.

“The financial savings over the existing gas boiler system are phenomenal. Our technology is incredibly economic and has helped pave the way for sustainable heat pump technology in Australia, slashing running costs and cutting carbon emissions for thousands of homes and commercial businesses,” Mr McNeill said.

Various trades including hydraulic engineers, plumbers, electricians, BMS/Controls specialists, civil works contractors, laborers, gas technicians and design draftsman will converge on WhiteWater World with Australia’s largest water heating installation due for completion in May.

Dreamworld – Mission Complete

20 September, 2018 by Nicole Chapman

Evo Energy Technologies have recently completed the largest heat pump installation in Australia with a massive 3,610kW heating capacity at Dreamworld’s WhiteWater World, heating over 30 slides, water-rides and pools to 27 degrees for year- round warm water.

This system upgrade has seen some of the newest advancements in water heating technology replacing WhiteWater World’s gas boiler system with 19 energy efficient EvoHeat CS200 GEN2 heat pumps that now reduce Dreamworld’s water heating running costs by over 70 percent.

This cutting-edge technology has helped WhiteWater World move one step closer to becoming one of the most energy efficient water parks in the world.

On top of the environmental benefits, the smart control and monitoring capabilities will also boost WhiteWater World’s operational efficiencies. WhiteWater World can now monitor and remotely control all aspects of their water heating plant to ensure maximum comfort levels for their guests all year round.

WhiteWater World patrons aren’t the only ones to benefit from the water heating upgrade, with upgrades also taking place to the existing heating at Dreamworld’s Tiger Island and the crocodile pools. Using an energy efficient EvoHeat CS 57 heat pump the water in Tiger Island remains at a comfortable 28-degree temperature for 12 of their big cats.

This massive water heating redesign took over three months to install and involved various trades including hydraulic engineers, plumbers, electricians, BMS/Controls specialists, civil works contractors, laborers, gas technicians and design draftsman.

Team work played a major part in the successful completion of this immense installation that has resulted in 19 heat pumps online, at set point and connected to the external monitoring system.
While there are some final tweaks to the system, Paul Callander, Executive GM Commercial & Development, is delighted not only with the final results and quality of workmanship shown but how well all those involved collaborated.

“As we stand today the works undertaken have been a resounding success. This is a tremendous and sustainable step in making Dreamworld’s WhiteWater World the best waterpark in Australia. I genuinely believe this install will continue to exceed all expectations, well into the future and will encourage other businesses to follow in our footsteps,” Mr Callander said.
